I have a MKIV Golf (2000) that has recently developed a problem...

The warning sound that chimes when you open the door with your headlights on has stopped working. Also, the chime that accompanies warning lights seems to have stopped working also, as when I had low fuel earlier the light came on on the dash, but there was no warning 'beep'.

Any ideas what the problem might be, and if so, what you'd charge to fix it?

Need rear tail light fitted (have part)
Handbrake LED on dash on even when handbreke is off
Yellow ABS led on dash on, flashes sometimes

Hi I have 1995 Lucida 2.2 diesel driving well just done a 50 mile trip left it running outside for 2 mins when I went back to it it had stopped and wouldnt start. No fuel getting to the injectors, fuel getting to one side of pump not the other. What do you think?

hey d15, could you quote for the following work, have rover 600 1.8 petrol (honda engine) clutch pedal not responsive - was working fine, now pedal on the floor, think its either slave or master cylinder. Driver front window regulator needs to be change as is bent therefore causes window to derail constantly. Exhaust has break at rear of backbox, cant be welded needs new/secondhand back box put on. front right c.v joint needs to be replaced. Would also like small service done (oil and air filter plugs and front pads changed)

It's the model with a timing belt and i think the water pump is making noise so it might be time to do the waterpump, belt + pulleys.

shudders little when the rev's start dropping... think alternator may eed to be looked at also and not sure if clutch is going to last much longer also....needs trackig also.

How much to...change oil and filter (i have parts) plus put back on clip on CV Boot joint (has come off and failed DOE - clip is still there just not attached), reset headlights (DOE failure too) and switch off ABS light on dash - DOE tester reckons light came on because oil from boot joint went on to brakes causing the light to come on.

i have a 00 seat inca van 1.9 d sti...... prom in the gears find it hard sum times puttin it in 2 first gear and sum times when i put it in 2 Reverse it makes a weird sound would u no what the hell could be up wit it or would u have 2 have a look......... thanks

Asked this mechanic to replace the Cylinder Head Gasket on my Landrover in late January. He agreed. Took him a week and eventually got car back . He was looking for 650 instead of 500 as we agreed. Month later car starts over heating again abd suprise suprise all messages and calls to this guy were ignored. Brought jeep to Spirit Landrover in Sandyford and a tech report confirmed that the thermosat had been interfered with but the head gasket had not been replaced at all. Was going to let it go but then decided to contact a solicitor. Has taken him a good while but he says I have a very good case as I have a emails and text messages from him saying he would and had replaced the head. Icollected the jeep from him so I know where his house is. I also had a witness for the 500 paid and I will be taking him to court asap if I do not recieve the 500 which I am owed. What a crook! He will be served his papers soon enough. Solicitor reckons we have a good case.

Hi, I have a 00 megane coupe. The drivers door won't open with the remote or the key (it does unlock, but can't be opened). The passenger door does unlock. The drivers door can be opened from the inside or the outside once the car hasn't been locked, but once I lock the car then I have to open the drivers door from the inside. How much to fix this?

Hi, I have an E36 BMW, the last week or two once the car has warmed up after about 10/15 mins drivin, If I get stopped in traffic or at lights the temp continues to rise untill I start driving again, if I'm stuck in bad traffic it keeps going up into the red. I was told it could just be the thermostat stuck or broken and to remove it and see if that sorts it. I've also heard that the water pumps have a tendancy to go in these aswell? Would you advise just taking out the thermostat or is it a bad idea? thanks

I think the starter motor is packed up on my toyota Avensis 2004. When I tun the key , i hear a clicking noise , dashboard lights come on but it doesn't start. I've tried jump starting but still the same. It happened a few months ago and AA man said the starter motor was going . How much would you charge to check it out and put in a reconditioned/second hand one ? We are selling the car soon so don;t want a new one if possible. Thanks
