Ernie Ball Musicman (Music Man) Albert Lee – Fender Strat beater

Description (updated on 15/04/2011 at 04:48pm):

Beautiful sunburst (premium finish) southern ash bodied hard tailed Ernie Ball Music Man Albert Lee Signature guitar. I have not contacted EBMM to check the serial number and I have not taken off the neck to check so I can't say what year it is but it'd be early 2000's I'd guess. Has the stock Seymour Duncan special wound pickups for this model which are fantastic. You can only get the sss layout now in the Ball Family Reserve series which are megabucks. The specs are here:
http://www.music-man.com/instruments/guitars/albert-lee-bfr.html

The guitar is in near mint condition – could pass for brand new with the exception of some very faint worming on the back. There are no dents, or dings. It plays like a dream and has oodles of sustain. The birds eye maple neck is stunning and is straight as an arrow with a low action. There is no choking or buzzing or fret wear. I have it set up with 11s. Comes with the original EBMM hard case also in excellent condition.

The only change from stock on this guitar is that the neck was professionally satin lacquered (polyester) by a luthier. So, it has the silky smooth feel of a modern Fender neck and you don’t have the hassle of having to oil it as the original necks are just finished off with a gun oil and wax mix.

If you fancy something a bit different with more class, rarity and versatility than a US Stratocaster, have a crack, you won’t be disappointed. These are not that common this side of the water and are pretty expensive at between £1450 and £1600 sterling!!:

Really looking for cash on this one and I have priced her to sell (hopefully!).

No worries John, me too!
I've ordered the hollowbody version of my legacy, hence the sale but there again no harm in keeping the two either!
All the best with the sale
steelplayer asked a question 12/04/2011 11:06 am (3 years ago):
I have one of these guitars (same colour too) and I can tell you it's by far the best Stratocaster type guitar I have ever played. Best of luck with the sale. Whoever buys it will get one hell of a guitar.

Hi James - yep, the Legacy Specials are great and I knew that you'd like the pickups!
