Therapy Assistant
(Galway)
JOB PURPOSE: To plan and implement activities appropriate to Residents needs and requests. Approximately 21 hours per week to work in Oughterard Manor Private Nursing Home. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Activities: 1. Help Residents to socialise within the Nursing Home, and provide a variety of activities that cater for all tastes. 2. Plan and initiate monthly rolling / individual programmes, and encourage Residents to maintain preexisting hobbies. 3. Encourage Staff Members, Relatives and Friends to participate in the Nursing Home's activities. 4. Accompany Residents, where possible, to off site activities, which may occasionally take place outside normal working hours. 5. Help to create an atmosphere that suits individual Residents within the Nursing Home. 6. Assist budgeting for entertainments, materials and outings and sourcing external financial assistance where available and appropriate. 7. Maintain full and accurate records of daily activities using appropriate documentation and assist the Named Carer to review and update Resident Care Files. 8. Establish and maintain relationships with residents that are based on respect and equality and that promote their independence. Experience in a similar role desirable.

Complete and sign off on the cleaning rota (as per daily, weekly, periodical tasks) as advised by the Nurse Manager in line with the Companys exceptional standards in hygiene and cleanliness 3. Ensure that the following are carried out at appropriate intervals in all areas of the Nursing Home and in line with the Cleaning Rota Thorough cleaning of all areas. Dusting, vacuuming and washing down of all areas. Cleaning of all safely accessible windows. Polishing of mirrors, brass plates on doors and furniture (as applicable). Dusting of all ledges, pictures, high areas and skirting boards. Shampooing of carpets. Cleaning of curtains, chairs and all furniture. Emptying / cleaning of waste bins Cleaning bathroom areas including moping shower and tiled areas Restocking of toiletries, soaps, towels etc.

Physiotherapist (Mayo and Galway)

We are currently seeking to hire a Physiotherapist (ISCP membership essential). The role involves predominantly working with elderly residents in our private nursing homes in Ballyhaunis, County Mayo and Oughterard, County Galway. OVERVIEW OF ROLE:: Design and development of focused individual care plans and group exercise sessions to maintain and improve quality of life for the resident community. Setting outcome measures using research based functional and fitness assessments. Providing ongoing one to one physiotherapy sessions to residents based on completion of initial baseline assessments. Maintaining and updating individual resident records. Working hand in hand with the home medical team to integrate physiotherapy as an integral part of the care plans. Clients would include predominantly (but not exclusively) geriatrics with physical and mental pathologies (stroke, Alzheimers and related dementias) right through to able bodied and active ageing adults. Third Level Degree in Physiotherapy qualification required. Current membership of ISCP essential. Experience either working with or knowledge of a long term geriatric population would be greatly beneficial but not essential. Strong communication skills both verbal and written. This is an ideal position for a qualified graduate with a genuine interest in working with the ageing population. Will require access to own transport (locations to be covered include Ballyhaunis and Oughterard).
