• Research the company

  Check the company / recruitment agency's details, and if you don't recognize the business name, research the company before replying by email. Be suspicious of email addresses that do not include the company name.

• Never provide confidential information

  You should never give out your bank details, PPS number, copy of passport, etc. until you have met your employer, and started with the company.

• Meet your prospective employer face to face

  Be wary of foreign companies that do not have a local office or employers offering you a job without meeting you first, whatever reasons they have for doing so.
