It's very easy - I can consider 17-40 cause its cheaper than 16-35mm 2.8 and I still will buy 35mm 1.4 as a replacement for my 24mm 1.4 mkII(35mm angle suits me more)
besides you 16-35mm 2.8 is mark II or mark I ?

Lens is mint so age doesn't really have a major part to play. L series lenses hold their value very well for a reason... If it was a 10/12 year old I'd understand totally.

500 difference between new cost of lens in Conns isn't really representative of the real marketplace.

The most i'll offer is €350

€350 plus my 135mm must be pretty close to your asking of 1100?

I checked Ebay for these two lenses and found cheapest you can get (not from HK) - Price difference is 440 Pounds = 539€ still
Looks like it makes sense
My asking is 1200€ - for almost Brand New Lens :) - and as you can see it's realllly good price !
