No blemishes and it was running perfectly when i finished using it.

The phone is sim free and unlocked,ie. You can use any network sim in it. Rooting is different,that allows you access the permissions of the phone and flash custom ROM's. I've never rooted the phone but it's a fairly straight forward process if you want to do it.
