Topmon quite rightly pointed out that a bracket might need replacing, so I'm gonna look into that and then I'll put the bike up for sale once it's repaired.

@ryshandyr: As you can see from the 2nd and 3rd pics, the bike does indeed have both mudguards and lights. And the bike was last cleaned/serviced by myself about a week ago.
