DELL Poweredge 2950

For sale is my Poweredge 2950 server (as you can see in the pics, I also have a 1900 that I recently bought, so I'm selling this one).

Service Tag is 3JW3G2J which will give you the general info and the original spec, but currently it contains:


- 1x 3Ghz Dual Core Intel Xeon 5160 CPU (can take 2 CPUs and heatsink for 2nd slot included)

- 4GB (4x1GB) PC5300 ECC RAM

- CDROM

- DELL PERC 5/i SAS/SATA RAID Controller (note: the RAID battery may need to be replaced but these can be sourced on eBay cheap enough)

- 4x Drive slots + caddys (no disks/operating system provided).
The machine CAN be upgraded to take 6 or even 8 disks though - a 6x 3.5" backplane is about $60/70 + shipping on eBay, and there's a version for 8x 2.5" disks as well. I was using 1.5TB SATA disks in it without any issue myself

- DRAC5 card - allows access to the hardware even when the machine is powered off (as long as there's an active network connection)

- Redundant PSU included

- 64-bit OS capable (I was using it with Server 2008 R2 and had Hyper-V running on it)

All in all this is a fantastic machine and had I not gotten the 1900 it'd still be in use here.
One note though - being a rack server this is not quiet. It's not deafeningly loud either (except when you first switch it on or have the case open), but you will definitely hear it beside you.

I'm looking for €300 (down from €750) for this so please, to save us all time, no silly offers or "I can get it here cheaper" style posts.
I would consider swapping it for a PE2900, but I'm not going to give this away either.

Postage isn't really an option I'd imagine due to the size and weight of it but I can meet between Fairview and Blanch weekday evenings or anywhere along the M3 corridor to Cavan (so Dunboyne/Ratoath, Dunshaughlin, Navan etc)
