# VW Golf GTD 2.0 TDI 170BHP | Stage 1 Remap | 3 Door | Manual | Project / Mechanic Special

**Volkswagen Golf GTD 2.0 TDI – 1968cc Diesel – Red – 6 Speed Manual**

Selling my Golf GTD, which I've owned since last year. Really enjoyable car to drive, plenty of power, great looks and a lot of money spent on maintenance and upgrades during my ownership.

**IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ:**

Unfortunately, the **turbo failed yesterday**, which is the main reason I'm selling. The car still starts, but it will need the turbo repaired/replaced before being driven.

I've found refurbished turbos available for around €250, but was quoted approximately €900 for labour. Being a college student and currently working very little, I simply can't justify spending that money right now.

If I could afford to fix it, I'd genuinely be keeping it. It's been a brilliant car to own and very enjoyable to drive.

### Engine & Performance
- 2.0 TDI Diesel – 1968cc
- Factory 170BHP
- Stage 1 remapped by previous owner
- Previous owner claimed approximately **210–230BHP** after tuning (not dyno verified)
- 6-speed manual gearbox
- Lowered suspension with upgraded/replaced shock absorbers by previous owner
- Very quick and enjoyable car when running properly

### Modifications & Extras
- Original Golf GTD alloy wheels, painted black
- Brake calipers painted yellow
- Lowered stance
- Yellow-tinted fog lights
- 15% tint on front passenger-side windows (rear windows not tinted)
- Apple CarPlay installed
- Front and rear dashcams, professionally-style hardwired into the fuse box rather than using a USB/cigarette lighter
- German-style plates included, along with original Irish registration plates
- **2 sets of keys**

### Recent Maintenance & Work Done
During my ownership, I've had the following work carried out:

- Camber bolts replaced
- Wishbone replaced
- Wheel alignment completed
- Front windscreen replaced
- Handbrake brakes repaired/replaced approximately 3 months ago
- Front left ABS issue recently repaired
- Diesel fuel filter replaced recently
- Cabin filter replaced over the weekend
- Receipts available for work carried out

Previous owner stated that the timing belt was changed at approximately 180,000 km, although I don't have confirmation of this.

### Condition / Things to Know
I want to be completely transparent about the car so nobody wastes their time.

- **Turbo has failed and needs attention.**
- There has been some clutch-related noise since I purchased it. The previous owner mentioned it, and a mechanic I consulted didn't consider it an issue at the time. It never caused me driving problems, but buyers are welcome to inspect it.
- Dent on the front left wing/fender.
- Some scratches and paint imperfections around the body.
- Bonnet had stone chips, which I attempted to repaint myself. The finish isn't great and would benefit from being professionally redone.
- Alloys and calipers were painted, not factory finished.
- Previously passed NCT, but was due for a new test today. Unfortunately, the turbo failed the day before, so **NCT is now due**.
- Taxed until February.

The exterior isn't perfect, but the car has a great look overall, especially with the lowered suspension, black GTD wheels and yellow fog lights. It definitely gets attention on the road.

### Reason for Sale
I'm currently focusing on college and don't have the income to justify repairing the turbo. Rather than leave the car sitting, I'd prefer to sell it to someone who can fix it and enjoy it.

It would be an ideal purchase for **a mechanic, someone handy with cars, or someone looking for a GTD project**.

There's a lot of value in the car between the GTD specification, modifications, accessories and maintenance already carried out.

**Car starts, open to inspections. Sold as needing repair, with the turbo issue clearly disclosed.**

Genuine interest welcome. Happy to answer questions and show receipts.

**Reasonable offers considered.**

I have car service report from last year if needed. I also have NCT logs from my time, and receipts of the following work I had done on my car if needed. Please let me know ahead of time.

Thanks!
