Excellent condition Cronebane, Avoca, Co Wicklow, Ireland token. The first Cronebane tokens were minted in 1789, others were minted later in 1793, 94 and 1795.
The Cronebane halfpenny token was issued by the Associated Irish Mine Company for payment to their employees who were mostly engaged in copper mining at Cronebane, two miles north of Avoca, Wicklow, Ireland. Excellent condition with great detail especially the coat of arms which is usually found to be badly worn away. Listed in Dalton & Hamer book, "The Provincial Token-Coinage of the 18th Century" as "RR - VERY RARE".

Obverse: Bishops head in profile, "CRONEBANE HALFPENNY".
Reverse: Shield of arms, a windlass above, "ASSOCIATED IRISH MINE COMPANY" with 1789 across.
