Description:
At 125 years old, the Vasco da Gama Aquarium remains committed to disseminating Portugal's aquatic biodiversity and knowledge of the seas, encouraging an informed and responsible interaction with this important ecosystem and economic resource. Thus, to promote sea literacy and honor an institution that has done so much for it, the Portuguese Republic issues this collection coin designed by Baiba Šime, a multidisciplinary artist trained at the Latvian Academy of Arts, who has worked for several years as a numismatic engraver at the INCM and which has already designed numerous commemorative and collectible coins.
