For sale is a simply stunning pendant necklace dating from around 1900/1910.
This amazing piece of jewellery is made with an oval mother of pearl disc set with a flower made with an round cut ruby, sapphire and emerald. There is a further round cut diamond and a spectacular pear cut yellow sapphire.
The oval mother of pearl disc has the most stunning platinum surround with openwork, greek key design and set with rose cut diamonds and four larger, old cut diamonds. The bale is set with a further, too old cut diamonds.
The diamonds total approx. 0.8-1ct.
The pendant hangs from a very fine, Figaro design white gold chain.
This is one of the most beautiful antique pieces of jewellery we have listed to date and certainly one of my favourites (I didn't want to sell this one!!)
The stones in the piece are SUPERB quality with deep velvety royal blue, pigeon blood red ruby and vivid emerald green. The diamonds are very bright and clear and dazzle with sparkle and fire and the mother of pearl disc has a fabulous shimmer and lustre of colours. The Greek key design of the surround is very art deco and so beautifully made.
The pendant measures 35mm and 44mm with the bale.
The chain measures 40cm in length or 16" and can easily be removed and swapped out for any chain length that you wish to put on it. The chain is fully hallmarked for 14ct white gold. The surround and setting of the diamonds is platinum.
A must see and a very special piece.
