Kerry, the holders, had already scored 7-12 against a fancied Kildare in the quarter finals and overturned a strong Tyrone team in the semis. It was going to be a tense, tactical and tough final between the two in-form squads of the year. No quarter was expected or given. When the final whistle sounded the 2014 champions were beaten and The Dubs once again paraded the Sam Maguire trophy 'through the streets broad & narrow'.
