Lakland 5502 deluxe
Very reluctantly parting ways with this bass due to downsizing my setup/career change.
It's a solid, beautiful sounding bass for all styles and techniques. Versatile tonal range (tweaking out a fender P, jazz, or Musicman tones pretty easily, for example) and probably the best action/neck relief I've ever played, including 4 strings. It has a very fast, fluid neck. Passive/active (9-volt preamp) push/pull volume knob, and pickup selector (humbucker, both, or jazz bridge pickup) which you can dial out a blend. I’ve New set of D’Addario NYXL strings put on it, also.
I've genuinely loved owning this bass, hence the reluctance to sell. It has always been very well looked after, routinely serviced/setup, in immaculate condition, with no dings or dents, and owned by a non-smoker in a pet free environment. I had a scratch plate fitted to it also, both for visual aesthetics, and improved playability.
Speaking of visual, the spalted wood pattern can be gamble (most are plain looking) on most of these basses, though I selected this particular bass out personally due to its feel and appearance.
Nice demo of the same model on YT.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpHcUKvUD1M&ab_channel=Sweetwater
