Water Lettuce (Pistia stratiotes) Floating Aquarium Plant
Pistia stratiotes is a free-floating fresh water aquatic with feathery roots that can reach up to 50 cm (19.7 in.) in length. The fleshy leaves of this plant are arranged in a rosette and measure 2-15 cm (0.75-6 in.) in length.
They are perfect for giving fish shade, cover to hide/rest under and hiding places for fish fry.
This plant is very good to reduce algae growth and improve the clarity of the water in your Aquarium. The plant sends its roots down into the water and helps remove harmful nitrates keeping you aquarium water quality better.
