You do parcel motel???
stofbj 6 months ago
@holl1968 Hi, yes I have parcel motel, the best I can do is 45 including shipping with parcel motel. This player has just been serviced, which would cost you more than the player itself if you brought it to an audio repair shop.

How does it sound I can only take your word on this but you have a good feedback score so I guess it sounds good?
stofbj 6 months ago
@holl1968 sounds good, but it all depends on the quality of the tapes and how they were stored. Don't expect 40 year old tapes stored incorrectly to sound good. If your not happy, you can return it for full refund (45 euro) if you pay for return shipping. Is that fair enough?

Just had a look through your other adds and you have an Awia for sale at same price which one would you recommend? If ya don’t mind my asking. The Panasonic caught my eye as it comes with accessories.

@holl1968 they are both good and fully serviced, not much between them, the Aiwa is a bit smaller as there is no need for the battery add on, I am heading out for the day, but will be in contact later today. The Panasonic has Dolby if you need it. I never use it, it kill the sound I think

@holl1968: Hi, Sorry got back late last night, i have tested both the aiwa and the panasonic and both are fully working, I compared both with the same tapes and headphones and they are both close and sound good with a recorded TDK AD & SA from a 3 head system. Like I said the panasonic is slightly bigger, but if you buy a gum stick battery for the panasonic, you can remove the battery attachment. You should be able to find them handy enough on ebay. All features on both are working, including both direction play. It must be noted that on both the VMSS on the panasonic and the super base on the aiwa do not sound very good, but you can turn them off. If your after more base sound the sony one I have would be much better. But to be honest I never turn them on, as I think tapes have enough bass. The panasonic uses 1 X AA batter and the aiwa 2X AAA batteries. Both last for ages. There is no head wear on both players, the heads will be cleaned and demagnetization before sending. The main problem is with poorly stored tapes, or badly maintained / calibrated players. I would not just go for the panasonic just on the fact that it has the remote, you would be better off using some better headphones with it, without the remote to be honest. The case night be handy.

Also please note that the belt has been replaced with a (0.6mm) thick, the same as original, from a reputable ebay seller specializing in belts only.

Thanks that’s loads of info. I do have quite a bit of old gear. I have a Sony wm ex 60 plays no worries but the battery compartment door needs attention as it’s quite loose. It’s just the Walkman no accessories. I seen your Sony Walkman has some light cosmetic damage as u declared no doubt it’s a good machine. I have a sharp gf 555 needs attention also but I hope to get that fixed. Which Walkman now is the question.
stofbj 6 months ago
@holl1968 yes nearly ended up with a sharp gf555 myself, but got a nice Hitachi instead for cheap, needed the usual belt replacement as they had turned to goo. And all the buttons needed the old grease cleaned up as it had gone hard and were causing them to stick. Will leave it with you to decide,

Curious will you sell the Sony at the same deal?
stofbj 6 months ago
@holl1968: No sorry, the sony is a really good solid (full metal case) player, I am actually hoping to hold onto this as my main player, so will only let this go for the asking price. I have already dropped the price on all 3 players, if I dropped it more It would not pay me to service them.
stofbj 6 months ago
@VillageCandle: Sure why not hold onto the one your selling for 57 euro? 30 is too low, as you can see I have already refused an offer of 35 euro

Hi sorry for delay in getting back to you. Right so Panasonic you said is 45 including parcel motel. Is the Sony if your selling of course? 50 including parcel motel?
stofbj 6 months ago
@holl1968: Hi, no problem with the delay, yes I can do 50 euro for the sony including shipping, Regards
