Description

Overview:

The AR/AP Specialist & Accounts Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Finance and Accounting functions within the Waterford entity. This role will report to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and committed individual with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

AP
• Process high volume of invoices;

• Ensure appropriate authorisation of invoices;

• Verify GL coding of processed invoices;

• Prepare the payment backup for vendors;

• Reconcile balances to supplier statements;

• Contribute to the efficiency of the function and assist with process improvement projects;

AR
• Process sales invoices and credit notes

• Assist with credit collection and liaise with customers on outstanding invoices

• Process bank lodgements, deposit refunds and client balances due;

• Following up on outstanding invoices and liaising with customers on their outstanding debtors;

• Weekly bank reconciliations;

Other

• Assisting with the preparation of information required for the annual external audit;

• Various accounts assistant duties as required e.g. VIES & Intrastat submissions

• Ad-hoc duties as required by the business

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in a similar role;

• A practical knowledge of accounting principles;

• Strong systems experience (Ideally SAP but not required)

• Proficient in MS Excel

• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict deadlines;

• A team player and the ability to communicate with various internal and external stakeholders.

• A team player with excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy;

• Ability to pro-actively communicate with third parties;
