Description

JOB PURPOSE

To carry out installation, commissioning and the regular servicing of equipment and to
respond to warranty repairs / breakdowns with support given to/from colleagues as required.

MAIN DUTIES

1. Installation and commissioning of CAT capital equipment
2. Timely completion of CAT equipment servicing in line with service contract due dates
3. Respond ASAP to warranty repairs and breakdowns
4. Timely submission of Job Sheets and associated documentation
5. Accurately administer and maintain in good condition allocated stock of parts and equipment
6. Support the Internal Service team on technical requests and in the issuing / successful
conversion of service quotes, new service contracts and service contract renewals
7. Assist off area CAT service team colleagues on large, complex service jobs
8. Attend meetings and submit reports as requested by the Service Manager and/or Service Team Leader
9. Maintain skill set and attend training courses as requested by Service Manager
10. In conjunction with the local CAT sales team, grow the service revenue generated on allocated
area
11. Promote the sale of and to carry out Added-Value Services
12. Carry out all duties with in line with company policy and with due regard to Health & Safety
requirements

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY

To prioritise own use of time according to customer needs and expectations, seeking the assistance of colleagues where necessary. As required, to propose to the Service Manager / Internal service team appropriate labour rates for ad hoc service work and competitive rates for new service contract opportunities and/or contract renewals. To make recommendations for the stocking of additional service parts in the EDC warehouse.

1. Proven experience and competence in working on compressed air related capital
equipment
2. Able to create and maintain personable, credible customer relationships
3. Technically competent and willing to learn new skills
4. Competent administrator

Desirable
5. Proven experience and competence in working on chillers / refrigerant related capital
equipment
6. Mechanical qualification to ONC level minimum
7. IT skills – Word, Excel & Lotus Notes
