This is a genuine Mac Pro 5,1 2010 and not a flashed 2009. The processors were upgraded from the stock 2.93 ghz ones that arrived.
The RAM has also been upgraded and it is currently only half full with 4 16gb DIMMS. The machine checks the ram to start off with and this slows boot times and 64gb is plenty for what I have been using this for.
Also installed is GC Titanridge card, which has been flashed with a different firmware, which enables a thunderbolt device to work on it. I have successfully run my Apollo twin mk2 and quad thunderbolt satellite thunderbolt on this card. The only caveat is that you have to reboot the machine a couple of times to get them both seen by the system. I have also installed Opencore, which allows the card to be identified by the mac under the system profile - see pictures.
Despite being slow to get started, this is a lightning fast machine once it's going. This is due to the standard hard drives being replaced with NVME drives. In addition to this, I have fitted a dual NVME drive caddy that uses a PCI switch to give fast read/write times. There will be no NVME supplied with the machine, but this can be done on request.
In terms of graphics cards, I have installed a Radeon RX580 8G card, which greatly improved performance. There's no boot screen with this, but you don't really need one with Opencore. However, I will throw in 2 additional cards. The first is the stock one that arrived with the machine, which might be handy if you need to go back to High Sierra. It isn't Metal compatible though and so I'll also include an Nvidia Gerfore GTX645.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
