@Simonhughes2015: I haven't looked for a quote for repair, and I dob't really want to put any more money into it which might not add value to the bike, I will leave it to the next owner. I also feel if I got it repaired, the new owner would not know the extent of the damage or how good the repair was, at least the way it is now they will know what they are dealing with and the best way effect a good repair.It could be professionally repaired or there are kits available which are relatively inexpensive, and with enough research I believe it is a job that could be done by someone with not too much difficulty.

@Robert-101: It does still feel structurally strong and I can not feel any flex in the seat stay at this point, but you would need to see it to satisfy yourself that it is ok to ride and ideally it should be repaired if doing any hard off-road riding.
