Hi, can you confirm that this is 19th century and not a reproduction, I ask as the end bord is curved suggesting it is a laminated timber with a mahogany veneer.
Is there a maker's stamp or nameplate?
Thank you

@pmac086: Thank you for your enquiry. This bed is definitely an antique, It dates I believe to pre-1900 and perhaps would have been made between 1880 and 1900. Judging by the width of the bed, at 4ft 8" wide, I believe that it was made on the continent and not in Ireland or England. If you would like to view the bed, this can be done at our showrooms, which are just outside Roscrea. Thank you, Anne-Louise

Hi Anne-Louise, thank you for your reply, it's a beautiful bed and I am very interested I am not an expert on dating a bed, Is there a maker's plate/stamp. Did you refurbish the bed?

@pmac086: Thanks for the compliments to the bed. There is no makers name on it and I am not sure of it's first origin. I bought it in central England, from a seller of beds. The mahogany is all very clean, however the upholstery would need to be re-done I think, usually people like to change the upholstery to suit their needs.
