I'm Backing Britain Heavy vinyl stitched Shopping bag 1960s ephemera.
Bought in Oxford St London in that period by the seller.
Produced ca. 1967/68 during the 'I'm backing Britain campaign' - a campaign aimed at boosting the economy.
Bruce Forsyth was commissioned to sing a song entitled 'I'm backing Britain'

The item is a heavyweight thick plastic/Vinyl Shopping bag, which has survived all these years and is in VG to Excellent condition.
It hung in a barn for decades so was not exposed to light to fade nor was it used.
As the pictures show, you can see the workmanship on it. The edges along the top are doubled back and stitched.
Steel rivets are used to secure the handles
The handles even have a stitched double bead.
The vinyl has broken a little bit at the bottom four corners due to the shape of the bag but it is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the item overall.
A lovely piece of 1960s ephemera, which has survived from the swinging sixties,
