A possible impending house move has forced me into evaluating all the contents of my attic and some items will have to go, in my effort to downsize. I'm making progress but more items need to go!
I have quite the selection of collectable tins of all shapes and sizes which I have collected over the years and used and displayed, but I have too much for my current needs so I have a few that must go!
For sale here is a Lovely Shabby Chic Large Round Pascall Sunshine Marsh Mallows Tin, Mitcham, Surrey, England, with a 10 Inch Diameter
This is a very old tin and it is very much showing it’s age! It has been in my collection for some time, but it’s time for a new owner.
This was originally for use to store and sell Marsh Mallow sweets and was then repurposed as a large cake tin. It dates to the 1930’s or earlier so has quite a lot of age to it. Originally it would have been a lovely cream and mint green colour.
Size-wise, this large round tin stands 5.5 inches/14 cm tall and is 10 inches/25.5 cm in diameter.
Condition-wise it has definitely seen better days! It has more degrees of tarnish, patina, rust spots, fading, scuffs and scratches than would be expected of a tin of this age. It was probably stored in a shed for some of it’s life and that’s when the rust took over!
I have not attempted to restore this tin, that is for the next owner to decide! I broke a nail trying to open it for the photos!! A little bit of WD40 would probably do the trick. Please see all the photos as they form part of the condition report.
This would be fabulous for display or photo shoots or as a prop for stage or screen.
Perfect for a display of funky shabby chic kitchenalia, in a cafe, pub, or home setting!
I have a number of tins for sale, and I am listing them separately, so keep an eye out!
I am also willing to sell as a job lot, where overall, the tins would be cheaper, so please see my ad for all five tins together!
