Hi do you still need to cut out the plaster boards and tank up the opening or do you just cut the opening from the tile and silicone around the niche.

@Slinky2014 Hi, if your very accurate with your plasterboard and tile cutout there's no need to tank up behind it, if you use a good quality clear neutral silicone and there's no movement its fine. Just make sure and leave the protective film on till all works are done, then remove. If you wanted to tank behind its optional, you can use masking tape or electrical tape to hold the niche in place after silicone done and leave overnight
