A rare and very unusual Solid Oak baby grand by Robert Morley of London. Hand-built by a master craftsman in 1940 and then rebuilt in 2010, including new strings, pins, and hammer heads. Any previous Oak cabinets we have restored are usually veneered, but in the case the piano is solid Oak wood throughout and it weighs a ton.
The cabinet is in excellent condition having been previously stripped back and French Polished by hand, but only a light layer, revealing the wood grain with semi-gloss look. The top panel is hand sculptured by Klement Zoltan, UK. The key tops are in excellent condition and the piano has a nice soft rounded tone. Touch is medium to heavy. If you are an advanced player we don't recommend this instrument as it lacks the dynamics and versatility of a modern grand. It's suited to a beginner learning piano who wants a very different style of design, and perhaps to suit a room with Oak furniture. This piano is currently in Courtown Harbour, Wexford, at our workshop. On account of its weight we will not be displaying in our Lucan showrooms but viewing is available in Wexford.
