A Stunning pastel seascape by the listed English artist William Edward Arnold-Forster. Titled "A Bright Sea", measures 14 by 23 inches plus mount and frame. The painting is made all the more valuable by the fact it was exhibited in 1935 at Londons oldest and most pretigious galleries Colnaghi, in October 1935. Painting is in excellent condition, no evidence of foxing, for trade buyer the painting is retail ready. Signed in monogram and dated lower left.

Las auction record I can find is for another smaller 1935 work which sold for £619 in Christies in 1995.
William Edward Arnold-Forster (8 May 1886-1951) artist, author & Labour politician, married Katherine "Ka" Laird Cox in 1918. She was the former lover of Rupert Brook. Their son was Mark Arnold-Forster author of the World at War. His father was Hugh Oakeley Arnold-Forster who was secretary of state for war from 1903 to 1905.
