Selling my vintage (c1984) Brian Rourke hand made race bike. Frame size is 20" (51 cm) seat tube C-T and Top tube is 20" (51 cm) C-C so it's built for a smaller rider eg. between 5' 2" and 5'8". The frame is made with the more rare Reynolds 531 professional tubing and has been built with very fine attention to detail. 531 Professional tubing is as light as 653 and even 753 but it arguably gives a better more comfortable lively ride as it doesn't suffer from the extra rigidity. The lugs are beautifully filed and brazed and the seat stays use Brian's famous wrap over technique where it joins the top tube. Brian Rourke had this frame made for one of his own club members in 1984 and it hasn't had much use. The paint is original and I built the bike up using parts from the same era. These include: 3ttt stem, an aero seat post, Campagnolo friction shifters, Campagnolo front and rear mechs, Cinelli bars, Universal Mod.125 side pulls, Sugino cranks with Stronglight compact chainrings, Mavic MA40s rims with super smooth Mavic 501 hubs with sealed bearings etc. I will also include a nice light set of tubular wheels with Nisi rims and almost new Vittoria Corsa tyres (tyres alone cost €140.) Please note*** the custom saddle (it has my name on it) and the pedals are not included in the sale. I will however Include a nice Selle Italia vintage saddle (see photos). The bike and all the components are in excellent condition and it's been ridden less than 100km since building. All in all it's a special classic bike that's lovely to ride being light, fast and relatively comfortable. As always, I'm not making any profit on these vintage builds but would be glad for it to go to someone who'll appreciate it and use it. Price is very fair and firm. Thanks for looking.
