I have an older hp laptop window 10 with only usb connections . I have obtained a new hp docking station with a USB-C connector only. I bought a USB-C to USB on Amazon but still not displaying the multiple screen options in settings on the laptop. Can you advise me.
@Firefox1 Hi. I am afraid they are all not gonna work, and I would advise you to return them if you can or keep them until you order a new laptop.
The USB-C dock station you bought required a built-in Thunderbolt USB-C port in your laptop with DisplayPort Alt mode to be able to transfer video/audio.
If you want to use one of the existing USB-A 3.0 ports to transfer video/audio, you need an external video USB-A card which will be detected by the Windows as a new driver and device and it will come with a driver software.
I hope you find my reply helpful

@Firefox1 Check the following options on Amazon:

https://amzn.eu/d/04XizWHp
I recommend these two based on my experience.

I had a look and don't think it's the solution. My docking station is connected by dual monitors using display port connectors. From the docking station has usb mini c that can be used to connect to newer computer but mine doesn't have that connection only usb. The adapter I bought doesn't recognise it and only see my laptop and not the other monitors in settings.
@Firefox1 If your monitor has only a DisplayPort, then search on Amazon for USB-A to DisplayPort external video card. Your dock station is not gonna work on ordinary USB port. It needs a Thunderbolt port to transfer the video
@Firefox1: Hi. I found for you more affordable option in Amazon and it seems working fine based on the customers' reviews.

@Firefox1: This one can extend to monitors in the same time:

So are you saying that I would connect it, from the monitors via Hdmi cable into that device and back into the docking station? If that's the case I would need to get 2 of them.
@Firefox1: Hi. Forget about the docking station. It will not support video transfer. Even it you used one the provided USB-A ports in the dock station, it may not work due to the lack of power, unless you have it with external power. And even if you have enough power, the USB-A in the old machines come with max 5GB/Sec speed which is not enough to cover multiple devices without interruption or a cost on the video resolution. Just use the adapters I recommended direct on on of the free USB-A ports in your laptop and connect the female HDMI port direct with your screen :)
