How do they compare with your Premium sleeves?

The sleeves are square in shape and are constructed from 2 layers of HDPE, with a rice paper centre. Our premium sleeves have 2 rounded corners, and do not have the rice paper layer.

Are the Ultra sleeves better than the Premium sleeves Yes and No. It comes down to your own preferences, and how you want to use them for.

The Ultra Premium sleeves are, in our opinion, the better of the two sleeves to replace plain paper sleeves (which you intend to discard upon replacement).

The paper centre makes these sleeves more rigid, which allows for a slightly easier insertion / removal of sleeves from your record albums. They don't scrunch up as easily.

However, if you want to supplement a printed inner sleeve, then as these sleeves are thicker, it can be a tight squeeze to fit them inside. The rounded sleeves are generally an easier fit.

At the same time, some of my customers have reported good results from storing the ultra premium in their record, outside of the printer inners.

What's Wrong with Paper & Cardboard Sleeves?

Paper sleeves can decompose over time, leaving debris on your record which your stylus then picks up.

Paper and cardboard sleeves (cardboard particularly) can be very "rough" and can leave hairline scratches on your records, when they are removed.

Paper sleeves are not anti-static. Charged records attract dirt, which needs to be eliminated or playback quality can be significantly affected.
