hi iorga. it would be more for cross country. the true downhill bikes have longer shock forks and quite often rear suspension aswell

the shifters are deore(shimano)and i am not sure of frame size as i am more used to road bike sizing,and the geometry of mountain bikes is different. i know when i bought it it was the size recommended for me and i am 5'11''. i will measure from centre of bottom bracket to top of seat tube and let you know when i get home
