Description:

I'm looking for a Bulgin type power cable for use with a vintage Tube PA system built in the 1950s/60s by HiFi Ltd. Here's a link to a page which has pictures of the type of PA system for which it is needed.

These plug cables were probably in use for household items in the 50's too like kettles. I'll pay €10 for just the bulgin connector and €15 for one with a wire and plug attached. Cheers

F.

Check the Maplin website or post this request on MusicRadar website. Bulgin plugs were used on a lot of guitar and P.A. amplifiers in the 1960s and 1970s. Should be easy enough to source.

@fintinbacobra. As suggested, these are easy to get, try ebay, but if you have any problems, i have the connector and can make you up a lead if required.

@Fuzzy Clam: Cheers - I'll have a look on ebay and I might take you up on that if shipping is overly pricey. Actually do you know is there a universal size? My machine is miles away at the moment so I can't measure the dimensions of the socket.
Thanks,
F.

This is the type I have.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BULGIN-SA1862-LARGE-3-PIN-5-AMP-PLUG-VINTAGE-AMPS-/300649949954?pt=UK_Consumer_VintageAudio_RL&hash=item4600222b02#ht_1383wt_648

It's described as the large type so maybe there's a smaller version.

Diameter is 22mm. Distance between any 2 pins is 10mm center to center.
