rolion asked a question 19/03/2010 6:05 pm (2 years ago):what card do you need,i might have it and swap it?!
SolarNexus says 19/03/2010 6:11 pm (2 years ago):Sure, I'd be willing to swap if you have what I need:
I need something similar (4 or more SATA) for PCI-E instead of PCI-X...
In fact, I need three in total (2 for x2 1u, 1 for x1 4u)
SolarNexus says 19/03/2010 6:13 pm (2 years ago):I also need 1u (>400w) power supplies...
rolion asked a question 19/03/2010 6:16 pm (2 years ago):i'll have a look at the sata controllers later this evening and revert.
re psu,i have a 650w from a HP Worksation at €50.
i will post you some photos.
rolion asked a question 19/03/2010 6:25 pm (2 years ago):i have this one HP branded:
http://www.lsi.com/storage_home/products_home/host_bus_adapters/sas_hbas/lsisas3442er/
with the 4 sata cables.
Others left are PCI-X not good for you :(
rolion asked a question 19/03/2010 6:34 pm (2 years ago):i have a card two x four sata drives :
HP SAS3080X-HP 8 INT PORT 64/133 PCI-X SAS
is PCI-X unfortunately but it may work for you !!
SolarNexus says 20/03/2010 10:32 am (2 years ago):rolion, I'm deffo interested in the PSU you mentioned. Any chance of a model number? (already bought two PSU's that don't fit... this build isn't going well)
As for any chance of PCI-X working, I'm afraid not - we've only got PCI-E slots on these servers :(
The card you've linked: it doesn't seem to work well with Vmware ESX, which is an absolute must for us, sadly.
rolion asked a question 20/03/2010 1:10 pm (2 years ago):The PSU is an OEM HP .
The card ...i'm using it on a HP ML350 with VMWare ,secondary to a P400 RAID card. The RAID card is for OS and the SAS is for HP LeftHand SAN !!
So far,working fine...
