donny all deals are supposed to be on thread. Can you find out where and this camera was purchased. If it comes boxed and with reciepts. How many shots it has taken. Is there an extended warranty with it?

And why your friend is selling. I have the a900 and I am looking at the A850 for a backup.

Hi Del! It was not purchased and is neither boxed nor comes with receipts nor warranty. Less than 1000 shots. Unlike yourself, my friend doesn't need a backup camera.

I was curious since you said it wasn't purchased. I forgot to add :) however that much money on a product that has no warranty, boxed or receipt is to much of a risk.
Can you confirm this is a production and not a pre-production model. How long has he had the camera?

Bases on the fact that it comes with nothing and sony's repair policy is a 40Eur inspection and a 200 Eur flat fee repair which I would factor in as there is no warranty. I will offer 500Eur.

Ok Del, thanks. I think this camera is way too much of a risk for you. You would be absolutely mad to even consider it at 500. In any case, the price is 1100 with absolutely no warranty, cute boxes or fancy receipts. This is a camera for people who live on the edge and take unreasonable risks. It's a camera for really cool and dangerous people who have money to burn.
