Description:

Hi,
Selling these all together, not splitting.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Acer Aspire:
Aspire 5021WLMi AMD Turion ML28 1.6Ghz (35W), Microsoft½ Windows½ XP Home, 15.4" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite, 128MB ATI X700, 512MB (2*256), 100GB, DVD Dual double layer, LiIon, Gigabit Ethernet & wireless 802.11g , 6-in-1 card reader.

Problems:
-Screen has become detached due to bad hinges. Broken wires which has lead to the screen being discoloured and the backlight of the screen going. Screen itself is not damaged. Could probably be put back to perfect nick with a new shell. I just don't have time and can't be without it for the days it would be away for repair.
-Has also turned itself off on occasion but I'm pretty sure this is only because I've left it on a duvet, covering the air vent and making it turn itself off before it gets too hot.
-Keyboard could do with a clean
-Left mouse button can be difficult to drag and drop with sometimes.

This is my every day computer at the moment, I have it hooked up to a monitor at the moment and it's fine.

Dell Latitude CPX 1
Unknown Spec, Circa Pentium 3

Problems:
-No ram, HDD or Battery. Power cable included though.
-The Actual screen is cracked

Dell Latitude CPX 2
Unknown Spec, Circa Pentium 3

Screen is fine on this one!

Problems:
-No ram, HDD or Battery. Power cable included though.
-Keyboard isn't working

Digimate L1517 monitor
15" flat panel monitor. Everything seems fine but for some reason, when I turn it on, it shows the image on the monitor perfectly for about half a second and then it all goes dark. You can barely make out what's on the screen. This could have a simple solution. I just don't know? If this is sorted, it would be in absolute perfect condition.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

So here's the situation;
I am NOT selling the Dell laptops or the Monitor. I got these free to try and fix/use with my acer but it's something I'm not going to be able to do myself so I'm giving them away WITH my Acer as I think, between the 3 laptops, it should be possible to get at least 2 working laptops.

offer 200euro for everything,

Not a chance, sorry, worth far more than that.

Antomol

Can you justify prices? everything seems to be broken

cormie
cormie says 13/11/2007 8:31 am (4 years ago):

Well all I'm looking for is enough money for a new laptop with similar spec to the Acer, as that is what I'm selling and throwing in the rest for free so to speak.

But in reality, if you have the time and knowledge I reckon indiviually they are worth:

Acer - to send off for repair will cost say 200 including shipping max as it's only a plastic shell and a few wires that need replacing, which will bring it to as new condition, which for its spec is worth about 600 euro. So 400 as is say.

Dell 1 - say 50 as is, 150 euro repaired.

Dell 2 - again 50 as is, 150 euro repaired.

Screen - 100 as is, 150 euro repaired.

So that's about E1,050 if everything was in perfect working order. It will require some time, sourcing a few spare parts and a bit of DIY but for somebody who does that as a hobby, then this is a good deal <img src="http://www.adverts.ie/images/smile.gif" alt="Smile" />

Antomol
Antomol asked a question 13/11/2007 9:25 am (4 years ago):

The most you would get for those in perfect order would be 600-700 euro.

cormie
cormie says 13/11/2007 9:56 am (4 years ago):

That would be an absolute minimum. a P3 laptop would generally not go for less than 150 in perfect nick, and the monitor not less than 100.

I think this is a pretty good deal for someone who is willing to fix them up and knows what they are doing.

I think your offer of 200 is far too low anyway. Would you be willing to put in a higher offer?

offer 300 for the laptops, dont want the monitor

I would be willing to swap for good laptop,Fujitsu amilo L7300,1.4 ghz,40 gig hardrive,512 ram,wireless internet,dvd/cd rewriter,xp office 03

cormie says 06/12/2007 1:16 pm (4 years ago):

Antomol, sorry for the delayed response. I was busy getting my new laptop, setting it up etc.

Anyway, I've wiped the acer so it's all ready to go now. I think 400 for the lot is fair. You'll be getting a genuine (never used before) copy of XP Home too and I can even throw in a logitech webcam too.

Cormie, I need the psu of the monitor!

cormie
cormie says 08/12/2007 12:14 am (4 years ago):

I know lordlame but I think I'll have a better chance of selling my Acer laptop by including a monitor that has a fault that is probably easy peasy to fix. If somebody buys the 3 laptops alone for €400, you can have the monitor for free but I don't want to risk not selling the laptops by giving away the monitor just yet. Hope you understand.

lordlame
lordlame asked a question 08/12/2007 12:09 pm (4 years ago):

I do understand, I don't think you'll get €400 for everything though. There's no hard drives or ram in the two dell laptops, they're P3, one of the screens is damaged and they're extremely old.

The acer itself is damaged, the screen isn't working and it isn't a top spec model. It's also out of date. Generally, this type of advert would be found in the "free section". You should probably try ebay though, you could probably get decent money for the dell laptops there.

To be honest, I would of ran with the €200-300 option. No offence intended in anyway, I'm just pointing out the perspective.

Offer still stands for the power supply unit!

lordlame asked a question 08/12/2007 12:18 pm (4 years ago):

Offer €15 for psu, not interested in the other stuff!

cormie
cormie says 09/12/2007 12:51 pm (4 years ago):

Can't I'm afraid, without the PSU the monitor would be useless and it's worth a lot more than €15 I reckon plus I'm only selling it with the laptop :o

Ciaram
Ciaram asked a question 18/12/2007 12:53 am (4 years ago):

Not interested, bought elsewhere, best of luck, you should have sold in october.

Id be interested in the screen if you considered selling individually. If you change your mind, you know where I am :)

cormie
cormie says 27/12/2007 5:08 pm (4 years ago):

Well if you wanted to buy the whole lot and do what you want with the rest? :)

I want the whole lot gone together, it's even ready to go in a nice little box lol.

ARGINITE
ARGINITE asked a question 02/01/2008 2:03 pm (4 years ago):

How much for the Acer laptop alone?
Sorry just noticed the not splitting notice, if you change your mind let me know.

cormie
cormie says 02/01/2008 2:05 pm (4 years ago):

I can't really split so it would still be 300, plus if you're in Galway, shipping on top.

ARGINITE
ARGINITE asked a question 02/01/2008 2:14 pm (4 years ago):

I will offer €250 if you can guarantee the motherboard in the Acer is 100% [turned itself off on occasion but I'm pretty sure this is only because I've left it on a duvet - has it overheated? and to what extent? does it smell of burnt electronics?], the rest of the stuff you may post to the nearest bin.

cormie
cormie says 02/01/2008 2:28 pm (4 years ago):

I was using the Acer as my main pc but had to replace it because I'm pretty reliant on a laptop, for being a laptop (portable). It only turned itself off a few times in the many many many hours I used it altogether. I can't guarantee anything but I'm being as honest as I can be. There is definitely no smell of burnt electronics and I have never got such a smell off it either. This wasn't a major problem at all really as it was so infrequent and before I got my replacement laptop the ad said that if anyone could fix the screen, I'd just keep the acer, so I was still prepared to use this as my main computer :)

Do you require the XP home with it too? It's an ACER OEM pack and the HD is currently wiped clean so it will need a fresh install. I don't have any means of hooking the acer up to anything so you'll have to take care of this yourself if that's ok? Shipping may be pretty expensive to Galway.

Can you pay by bank transfer do you think? AIB internet banking would be handy as I use that myself :)

I think the typical weight of a packed laptop is 4KG, I used anpost to calculate shipping and it's coming to about €20. This is a lot cheaper than I expected it to be so maybe just wait till I can get an exact price from the post office because the size of the parcel may effect the price too? I'm not sure.

ARGINITE
ARGINITE asked a question 02/01/2008 2:34 pm (4 years ago):

I have the same laptop it just has a dead motherboard, so its a few hours worth of work to swap the boards. You may keep everything [including XP home] except for the Acer charger and Acer laptop.

Yep sort the shipping out and I can then pay full amount via AIB bank transfer.

cormie
cormie says 02/01/2008 2:43 pm (4 years ago):

Ok cool stuff. You can test the laptop I send down before dissecting the two anyway just incase you botch something up and think I sent you a completely dead laptop ;) It should be fine for what you need it for anyway.

I'll pop you a PM now about bank details and all that.
