Brand new Dell Vostro laptop, still in packaging unused.
Note that these laptops are on a 4-week waiting list to buy from Dell, but I can arrange delivery/collection ASAP.

Surely that's a breach of consumer rights. You have at least 7 working days from date of delivery to decide if you want to keep it, and you can return it within this time without giving any reason.

This is a brand new laptop, if I was to accept offers I'd only be doing myself out of more money. Last thing I need as a poor student :D I'v already had people expressing interest, willing to pay the asking price (which is well below the cost price!!)

There is a whole dept. set up in Limerick specifically for this. The law is 7 days...as mentioned earlier under distance selling regs, since you don't have the chance to examine the goods before buying. Dell extend that to 30 days actually. If you push your case you will be fine. Best of luck.

Surely they wouldn't put that in the Terms & Conditions if it was illegal?

But it's common knowledge T&C's don't invalidate your statutory rights. I am sure you will find a buyer anyway, as it's a hard to get system right now.
