Description (updated on 23/09/2011 at 04:32pm):
A really well-built netbook/laptop replacement. I sourced one for a friend (who uses it as his main computer) and liked it so much I just had to buy one myself - despite having far too many computers already. It has sat around, almost unused for the last year.
It's a top-spec netbook, aimed at the business market, having a 10.1" LED-backlit screen (1024X600 - great for legibility of text), 2GB RAM, Bluetooth, Wireless-N, Atom Z270 processor, webcam, 7200rpm/160GB hard drive (33% faster than the usual ones), SD card slot, expresscard slot, 2XUSB... and a really neat and strong, brushed aluminium construction, both top and bottom.
It is a cut above the average netbook, even has free-fall sensor to park the hard drive heads when the unit is dropped. I wouldn't go testing that, mind you.
Battery still lasts for a couple of hours of surfing at least (needs to be cycled from lack of use). New and even larger capacity ones are readily available on eBay.
The netbook is running Windows 7 Enterprise with Office 2010 installed (Genuine keys).
There are no scratches on the screen or any metal section. There is one small piece of plastic trim at the top of the lid (outside) with some scratches on it. Great condition overall due to lack of use.
I will upgrade the hard disk to 250GB for €20 extra, 400GB for €40 extra.
Like most (all?) netbooks, this has no optical drive. I will sell you an external slimline Samsung one for €30. This was bought for €50 in Lidl 6 weeks ago and still has the plastic on it!
I will consider postage if you PayPal first, would prefer an easy deal face-to-face in Galway.

maj placed offer 20/09/2011 11:19 am (8 months ago):€120 Offered
will collect frm galway face to face?
biddy4me says 20/09/2011 11:26 am (8 months ago):@maj:It's too low for this machine. Maybe if it were a plastic Acer with 1Gb RAM ;-) Thanks though.
speedy086 asked a question 20/09/2011 3:53 pm (8 months ago):swap ye something in my adds
biddy4me says 20/09/2011 3:57 pm (8 months ago):@speedy086: Nothing in your active ads has an a value above €25? Anyways unless something really cool pops up, I'm looking to get rid of my extra gadgets :-)
speedy086 asked a question 20/09/2011 5:52 pm (8 months ago):the ps3 is above 25e. maybe you missed it
biddy4me says 20/09/2011 6:09 pm (8 months ago):@speedy086:I've looked a couple of times and can't see it. Tried your 7 active ads and the withdrawn ones going back several pages. I'd take a look at it of course (if I could find it), but I do have 2 360's and my gf mocks me cause I don't use them... what a life!
speedy086 asked a question 20/09/2011 6:59 pm (8 months ago):its the fourth one down in the active ads. take a look and see
biddy4me says 20/09/2011 10:02 pm (8 months ago):@speedy086: Haha. Took yet another look from PC at home and got the gf to confirm what I see on her Mac. Your profile says Active: 7 but when you click on the "7" you get "6 Listings found, showing 1 to 6". The first two are shoes, the third one is "sony 32 inch tv faulty" and the fourth is "Targus Wireless 2.4 GHz Presenter". Either we've found a glitch in Adverts, you have some weird invisibility setting on, or your PS3 is in stuck in limbo. Ah, I can sleep easy tonight as one vindicated mo fo.
speedy086 asked a question 21/09/2011 9:43 am (8 months ago):i dont know what is happening. ye must be a glitch. he is the link for it http://www.adverts.ie/842052
sheldrav asked a question 21/09/2011 1:16 pm (8 months ago):maybe swap for one of my ads?

biddy4me says 21/09/2011 1:54 pm (8 months ago):@speedy086:Put a lot of thought and research into reasons to part-exchange for your PS3 (at work :-p) Given my goal of reducing unused stuff and my small flat, I don't think another console is a good idea. Sorry... thanks for the offer.
biddy4me says 21/09/2011 1:56 pm (8 months ago):@sheldrav: Your 360 is the only item of similar value and I have 2 of them already. In fact I gave one away free on the weekend that had intermittent RROD (had done the official x-clamp fix twice on the piece of crap)
speedy086 asked a question 21/09/2011 2:10 pm (8 months ago):swap ye x10 mini with 8gb sd card
biddy4me says 21/09/2011 2:16 pm (8 months ago):@speedy086:Am happy with my 3GS for now. How about some cash money :-) Could put fuel in my tank to get to work for a couple months. There's me being sensible!
B00MSTICK placed offer 22/09/2011 1:37 pm (8 months ago):€140 Offered
Hi, I'll offer 140 and meet in Galway?
biddy4me says 22/09/2011 1:56 pm (8 months ago):@B00MSTICK: Won't take €140 for this machine. When/if you see it you will understand why. Tell you what, I am dropping the asking price to €160 but that is the bare minimum I will take. First come, first served.
jcmg73 asked a question 23/09/2011 1:25 am (8 months ago):@biddy4me any interest in an iPod touch 64gb in ex condition
biddy4me says 23/09/2011 10:48 am (8 months ago):@jcmg73:Looks like a nice gadget but my phone is a 32Gb 3GS, which is basically this with the phone bit added and only half the capacity. I haven't filled the 32Gb with data, and have yet to use the iPod function on it. Thanks though and good luck with your sale
B00MSTICK placed offer 23/09/2011 11:05 am (8 months ago):€150 Offered
Meet me half way at €150? That's really the most I could go, it's actually not for me and although there's no doubting the specs are great unfortunately it'd be wasted on the person that wants it.
eparge asked a question 23/09/2011 11:29 am (8 months ago):have you got the original box? can you post to killarney and if so how much.
biddy4me says 23/09/2011 11:37 am (8 months ago):@B00MSTICK: I hate to quibble over a tenner but feel I have to as I went halfway already to your bid of €140 from my asking of €180. If you are looking for something dead cheap but fully-functional, I will sell you a Dell C640 1.7GHz Centrino, 40Gb, 512MB RAM, built-in WiFi, with a good battery for €50 with your choice of XP or Ubuntu. No optical drive... nice compact machine with metal housing. Can source a DVDROM/CD burner for it for €20 or so on eBay. At the minute it has a swappable floppy module (retro I know)
biddy4me says 23/09/2011 11:41 am (8 months ago):@eparge: I do not have the original box. I will post to you - registered, at no profit. http://www.anpost.ie/AnPost/PostalRates/Registered+Post.htm I'm guessing that it will weigh less than 4Kg with box and charger... so approximately €15. Whatever it is, I will charge you exactly that by packaging it and weighing it before you pay.
B00MSTICK asked a question 23/09/2011 11:44 am (8 months ago):I'll talk to my friend and let you know, the Dell could suit his needs but may opt for the HP. His budget was 120 but I'll see what I can do.
Thanks
eparge asked a question 23/09/2011 12:09 pm (8 months ago):ok thanks. i will get back to you later today about a 160 offer + postage just have to insure she wants it :)
pixiehead asked a question 24/09/2011 7:45 am (8 months ago):is it still for sale? Thanks, jim
B00MSTICK placed offer 24/09/2011 11:17 am (8 months ago):€160 Offered
He'll go the 160 for the HP, so offer asking and meet in Galway
B00MSTICK asked a question 24/09/2011 1:57 pm (8 months ago):I think I've managed to get him to go around to the Dell, the specs on the HP would be wasted on him IMO. (Old enough guy, not great at computers at all) Looks like you've a lot of interest in the HP anyway.
So I'll have a look at the Dell and he'll take that for 50 assuming it runs XP relatively smooth.
Thanks and sorry for the mini-run around. I've sent you a PM with my number anyway
biddy4me says 24/09/2011 2:05 pm (8 months ago):@pixiehead:Still available, yup! No offers below €160.
biddy4me says 24/09/2011 2:41 pm (8 months ago):@B00MSTICK:No worries. I bought a DVDROM/CDRW module for that Dell yesterday from the UK. Got a good deal on it - 15 bucks. He'll have to cover the price of that as well. It will come with a spare power adaptor. I'll PM you when I have received the item and the lappy is ready to go.
stevecomputer asked a question 24/09/2011 2:50 pm (8 months ago):Do you include disks/tags/product keys for windows and office? Thank you.
