Howdy folks,
I'm selling on my Canon 17-85 IS USM, as I recently bought a 24-105 L lens to upgrade to.
The lens produces fantastic images, with only really noticeable chromatic abberation at the wide end and a bit of noticeable distortion at 17mm. Out from that, it's a perfect little lens in my opinion, and truth be told, if it were weather-sealed I wouldn't have bothered going looking to upgrade (but I just know I'll be out in the rain a few times over the coming months, so i want the weather sealing that the L lens offers).
I've been using this lens for a good while, mostly in low light situations with a flashgun, and it's never really let me down.
I should let people know, however, that I did drop the lens a few months ago, and this caused the focus to have an issue where it wouldn't focus when shooting past 30mm or so. However, I sent it off to get it repaired by boards' own camera expert ZeroHamster, and since then (about three months ago?) I haven't had a single issue with it. I would say that both optically and mechanically it's in pretty great condition.
Would prefer to meet up, and sell it in person, to allow the person to give it a once-over and ensure he/she's happy with it.
It comes with a generic lens hood, though it has a small crack in it, unfortunately (tripod landed on it when it was on a bed - don't worry; it wasn't attached to the lens at the time), a UV filter and both caps.

Lens is grand, but I'd like you to get your hands on it and make sure you're happy with it before taking it off me.
So sold, if you're happy to meet me, but only if you can meet me somewhere around the centre of Dublin (Spire and St. Stephen's Green are probably the only two places I'm really familiar with, or Toymaster/Smyths...somewhere like that?) as I'm not too familiar with the place.
