Description (updated on 12/10/2011 at 10:29pm):

In excellent cosmetic condition with a black satin finish. It will fit any Olympus OM mount SLR such as the OM1, OM2, OM4 and most Olympus DSLRs with the supplied adapter. On my four-thirds E-510 it gives an effective zoom range of 120-600mm; with an appropriate adapter it can be used on a wide range of DSLRs with manual focus and manual or aperture priority exposure.

Focusing and zoom are smooth and glass is in pristine condition, with no scratches, blemishes or fungus. The aperture blades are nice and snappy with no sign of oil residue. Front & rear caps are included, as is a Cokin skylight filter, fitted from day one.
I’m also offering a matt black tripod mount ring — you’ll need it — and a matching aluminium lens hood, plus an OM to Four-Thirds adapter for an additional €10 (these extras cost over €50 and are new and unused, still in their original packaging)

The filter thread is 62mm and minimum focusing distance is 1.2m. Macro ratio is 1:2.8 - 1:14. Any questions, just ask. You can see some samples taken with this lens here: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Sirius%2060-300mm

Asking price is €75 with the Four-Thirds adapter included, or €65 without.
Collect/inspect in Limerick or will post at cost (I’ll get a price for this tomorrow).

@timejockey: Sorry for the delay, I was out of the country since Thursday and have just seen this now. Yes, absolutely, as it's the standard OM bayonet mount (and according to: http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Olympus_OM-10/20/30/40) you won't need any adapter and should get full d.o.f preview and the focus assist indicator in the viewfinder. Which would be very handy with a lens this long...

Make me an offer?

P.S. Have just seen that you're only down the road, too, so you'd be welcome to try it out before you buy.

HI just wondering is this sold? and my other question if its not is..... can this be used for tking sports action photos? soory if its seems like a dumb question to someone that knows their stuff bout cameras, was given an olympus DSL camera as a present and would really like to get into taking sports action photos but sure with the lense that came with the camera id want to be on the pitch in the middle of the action to try and get a close up photo!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

@Lily x: Yes, it's still available unless timejockey replies very soon to my pm.

This is ideal for taking sports action photos, as long as you realise that there's a certain amount of skill involved in shooting at long focal lengths like 300mm (or 600mm if your camera is a recent Olympus DSLR? You don't say what model...).

You need a high shutter speed to freeze the action and avoid camera shake, which is much more pronounced - imagine looking through a pair of low-powered binoculars, and how much every little tremor in your hand is magnified... and focussing needs to be precise because you have a very restricted depth of field with a long telephoto (i.e. the amount of the picture in front of and behind the point you've focussed on which will be acceptably sharp. Of course, that narrow depth of field also serves to throw distracting backgrounds nicely out of focus, too!)

In a word, there's a bit of a learning curve involved; you can't just point and shoot and hope to get successful shots straight off. You'll find lots of tips and tricks online, e.g. http://www.pcworld.com/article/121707/digital_focus_get_closer_with_a_telephoto_shot.html). But it's great fun and will really improve your technique.

Again, if you're near Limerick at all, you're welcome to try it out on your camera before you make your mind up.

Absolutely, Lily, I've an E510 myself. Your 14-42mm kit lens is the equivalent of 28-84mm; this one would be equal to 120-600mm.

timejockey isn't in the running for this any more (he reckons you're my "imaginary friend", actually!) so I've sent you a pm, cheers...
