It is NOT a 100% genuine item in my view. It is a bog standard wristwatch that has had a couple of decals applied in a manner that is not consistent with anything legitimate.

I agree. It's a fake. Wrong age(slightly), wrong dial and design. It is NOT an issued watch. It would have Deutsche heer markings on the back if it was(SS being army). It's not a private purchase either as the age is wrong. Well not unless the SS were looking for business in 1947. Its the standard fake designed to trap the newbie and the unwary. Funny how these things are never watches belonging to the German military theatre dept. It's always the SS!! :o. Like all they're reincarnations are Cleopatra....

I've been collecting German military watches for 20+ years. If this is real I'll eat my own head.

BTW what do you mean by "good working order"? When was it's last service? Have you got the details of that? What is it's timekeeping accuracy? Can you post a picture of the movement?
