seedubya asked a question 09/06/2009 12:56 am (2 years ago):what's the spec?
seedubya asked a question 09/06/2009 12:58 am (2 years ago):as in not "dis is the top spec" - what's the actual spec i.e. processor, hard disk, ram, optical drive, OS and included software.
Does it work on an external monitor? Have you had it looked at by a professional? I'm interested but would need answers to above questions please.
will316 says 09/06/2009 2:52 am (2 years ago):Apple MacBook ProUpon first glance, the Apple MacBook Pro "Core Duo" 2.16 17-Inch looks quite similar to the PowerBook G4/1.67 17" (HR) that it replaced, but the MacBook Pro is powered by an Intel "Core Duo" processor. This model features a 2.16 GHz Intel "Core Duo" processor (T2600), with two independent processor "cores" on a single silicon chip, a 2 MB shared "on chip" level 2 cache, a 667 MHz frontside bus, 1.0 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300), a 120.0 GB hard drive with "Sudden Motion Sensor" technology, and an 8X dual-layer DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW SuperDrive. It also includes an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics processor with 256 MB of GDDR3 video memory and dual-link DVI functionality, and a 17.0" widescreen TFT active-matrix display (1680x1050 native) that Apple states is 36% brighter than the display provided by its predecessor.
Like its predecessor, the MacBook Pro 2.16 17" has the same fiber-optic-based "ambient light sensor" that automatically "measures ambient light" that adjusts keyboard illumination and screen brightness, the same "scrolling TrackPad", and the same AirPort Extreme (802.11g), Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire "400" port, Firewire "800" port, and optical digital audio in/out.
However, the MacBook Pro 2.16 17" drops the S-video out port and internal modem, adds an extra USB 2.0 port (for a total of three), and substitutes an ExpressCard/34 expansion slot for the Type I/II PC card slot. The MacBook Pro models also include a built-in iSight video camera, an Apple Remote for use with Apple Front Row software, and the "MagSafe" power connector that safely disconnects if someone trips over the cord. and ya u put it on a external monitor u can get a dvi to hdmi adapter buot u will have to the screen fixed to sat it up
drude_2002 asked a question 09/06/2009 7:06 am (2 years ago):If the specs in the write-up you provided above are correct, this is the original 17" MacBook Pro. Which means this computer was purchased between April 2006 and October 2006 making it approx. 3 years old. I am assuming if you only have it 8 months then you purchased it from someone or somewhere other than Apple?
As the screen for this model is quite expensive because it is such an old model, i offer €150
mfk asked a question 09/06/2009 7:48 am (2 years ago):Offer 300 + postage costs
seedubya asked a question 09/06/2009 9:13 am (2 years ago):agree with drude_2002, this seem to be almost 3 years old. You'll need to set a price. Them's the rules. Still interested though. As I previously asked - does it work on an external monitor?
seedubya asked a question 09/06/2009 9:16 am (2 years ago):Just to be clear - I don't want to know if it should or will work - I want to know if you've tried it. After all, if you haven't, how do you know that the screen is the only damaged it suffered from the fall?
muppetkiller asked a question 09/06/2009 9:32 am (2 years ago):Have you hooked this up to a monitor to prove all other functionality is working ?
