beanie asked a question 27/10/2011 5:16 pm (6 months ago):Swap for 2011 moped in my ads? It's electric, almost free to run! :-)
banana_plug asked a question 27/10/2011 8:07 pm (6 months ago):almost 5 year old computer - 800 euros? ;]... i dont think so ;]
Epinoch says 27/10/2011 9:31 pm (6 months ago):@beanie:Sorry - not interested in swaps :) Moving to America in the next few months.
Epinoch says 27/10/2011 9:34 pm (6 months ago):@banana_plug: More almost 4 years old. Also, considering the bulk of the laptop was replaced under warranty last year, not even sure if it could be classed as 4 years old. So ya - for a perfect condition 15" MBP . . .
beanie asked a question 28/10/2011 12:41 am (6 months ago):Cool, GLWS
banana_plug asked a question 28/10/2011 8:03 am (6 months ago):well first of all, it was replaced because of faulty nvidia gfx chips. and it has only been replaced (if.. only) to a newer revision chip - which is still the same thing that also dies after half a year or a year, ive replaced those for many times. pcs with such gfx chips are a cat in the bag - u never know what ure getting. dont want to threadspoil, just trying to help u reconsider the price ;] obviously if u wanna get it sold ;] cheers ;]
Epinoch says 28/10/2011 10:03 am (6 months ago):@banana_plug: Considering the chip on mine lasted 3 years of *heavy* use, I really can't see how the newer revision "dies after half a year or a year". I've known many a similar models' owners who's ones are still going perfect (who never needed a replacement).
Also, newer revision + firmware update to further reduce the possibility of failure - I really can't see there being much of a problem.
Anyway, good luck with finding a perfect condition one for 400 euro - you shall need it. I won't be going down that much, since they sell for far more on ebay alone. I'm open to more reasonable offers.
banana_plug asked a question 28/10/2011 9:07 pm (6 months ago):mate, do u know how many "never revision" chips i replaced? :]
infact all of them will die. eventually. its just a matter of time. if u know as far as that, u know what i mean, and u defo know that these gpu's are faulty. all of them. if the user keeps it cool, it might prolong the lifespan of it. but thats about all. ;] good luck in selling 4 year old macbook for 800 euros ;] all the best ;]
Epinoch says 28/10/2011 9:12 pm (6 months ago):@banana_plug:Suppose we can beg to differ. On a closing point - I'm not full sure you really even believe what you're saying considering you offered anything for it. (Nobody would be willing to pay 400 for something they think will be a paper weight next week) - so I think the down-talking it is for a different motivation . . . but anyway - good luck too, and all the best.
banana_plug asked a question 28/10/2011 9:21 pm (6 months ago):sorry, im not trying to be smart or something, and i probably shouldnt have started this debate, debates like this are pointless. if there's a product - theres always a buyer for it.
But your statement makes no sense, and my statement is based on experience, true experience. that's probably 150-200 gpu's in last 3 years we have done in our pc shop. and mac pros, imacs etc.. etc. listen mate, i believe u will sell it for what u want, all the best.
joe.g asked a question 03/11/2011 9:30 pm (6 months ago):is this still available? how low can u go, ill be traveling from Galway to get it.
Epinoch says 04/11/2011 12:09 am (6 months ago):@joe.g: Suppose 680 is the minimum I'd accept, and purely for a zero hassle, zero haggle deal. Not really willing to accept anything below that though. You can let me know if you're interested :)
joe.g placed offer 04/11/2011 12:39 pm (6 months ago):€680 Offered
