Hurley30 asked a question 23/01/2012 5:17 pm (4 months ago):Hi there, This is probably a silly question! but.. do I need an existing sat dish or a live tv point for this combo to work. If yes will a sat dish give me the irish channels as well as the foregin channels? thanks!
freetvie says 23/01/2012 5:59 pm (4 months ago):@Hurley30: Hi. No such thing as a silly question !
Yes you need an existing sat dish and rooftop antenna. Depending on where you live....you may be able to use an indoor antenna instead of a rooftop antenna.
You can check your coverage here: http://www.freetv.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43&Itemid=83
The satellite dish is used to receive UK freesat channels and the rooftop/indoor antenna is used to receive the Irish channels.
Please do not hesitate to ask any further questions.

nintendo2kop asked a question 01/02/2012 2:29 pm (3 months ago):Hello. I've a Sky satellite dish on the roof but I've cancelled the contract. Would I be able to use the Sky dish with this receiver box to get UK stations?
freetvie says 01/02/2012 4:18 pm (3 months ago):@nintendo2kop: Yes you can use your existing SKY dish to receive UK FreeSat.
Plugging in an indoor or outdoor terrestrial antenna will give you the Irish equivalent of FreeSat called Saorview.
Hope this helps.
