This is from Dell's highly proven 9th generation server range - this is a MkIII which is rock solid.
This server was purchased July 2008 - warranty was valid until July 2011. (At that point the warranty can be extended for a further 2 years. Warranty can easily be transferred to new owner via Dell Tag Transfer.) The Warranty is NBD - Next Business Day Engineer-On-Site.
It shipped with 1 X Zeon Quad Core E5410 2.33 Ghz proc (virtualization capable), 8GB memory fully buffered dual rank dimms, Perc 6i Raid controller : excellent robust hardware raid controller supports raid 0,5,6,10,50,60, 2 x 500GB SATA hdds 7,200rpm, 1 x 300GB 10k SAS hdd and 2 x 147GB 10k SAS hdd
This server is perfect for virtualization (ESX or Hyper V) for which it already has heaps of power and storage and it is also hugely expandable. You can even install ESXi onto a USB key connected to the internal USB port. Remember ESXi is FREE and now Microsoft's HyperV Server 2008 R2 is a new offering. Offload iSCSI traffic with the TOE feature. Boot from iSCSI san supported. If you want out of band management simply add a DRAC 5 card for ultimate remote control.
**It has never been in a production environment as I only used it for a home lab to get more exposure to ESX so it has only ever been powered up for perhaps 400 hours**
