Mitzi Boutique of London is a millinery business founded by Mitzi Lorenz and Andre Weinberger, who moved to England in 1936 and began their millinery enterprise in 1938. The Mitzi Lorenz business flourished and became a millinery empire that trained and employed a number of England’s renowned milliners, such as Frederick Fox who designed hats for Queen Elizabeth II. Mitzi Lorenz was born in Austria in 1911.  As a young girl she knew that millinery was her passion, and at the tender age of 15 she apprenticed at a Viennese fashion house.  She and her husband came to England and set up shop on Great Portland Street, in London’s west end in 1938.  The business flourished and she fast became a hat making legend.  Her hat ‘models’ are at the highest end and have always been highly sought after.
