72 year old Martin 00018

Beautiful vintage 1954 Martin 00018.

This is a simply stunning vintage instrument that has just been professionally set up and checked by a luthier so it plays superbly.

It’s a truly gorgeous sounding instrument and delivers 72 years of wonderful Martin tone. It really needs to be played to appreciate just how good it is. You just can’t beat these old Martins and spruce over mahogany in a 000 size is truly divine.

It’s in great well played condition, with nicks, scratches, marks and a couple of small professional binding repairs that are testament to how loved this guitar has been over its long life. As I mentioned it has had a full professional check so everything is sound and playing perfectly. I can only imagine the gigs it did and the music it created throughout the 1950s, 1960s and beyond.

All I know is that it was bought from Carter Vintage guitars in Nashville in 2015 by an Irish guy who was living in the States. Carters carried out a neck reset and re-fret at the time and it still plays beautifully. You can see this information on the original bill of sale which comes with the guitar.

The guitar is fully original bar an old set of Waverly tuners which are an essential upgrade on a Martin of this age.

I have it about eight years and it has only been played moderately at home since which is a shame and is the main reason why I’m selling it on. It really needs to be played and is looking for a new custodian to take it through another 70 odd years.

It comes with a very old case that may well have been with it all of its years but I simply don’t know.

This is a rare opportunity to pick up a beautiful old Martin. It is very reasonably priced compared to similar era 00018s online, most of which are a few thousand Euros more than this.

Thanks
