GI JOE Cobra figure set from the Resolute cartoon. These figures are from the 'red' boxed set. Though the red color scheme wasn't used in the final cut of the cartoon, it is the only set that included an Officer figure. The 'blue' set only included a Resolute Alley Viper figure - the blue Cobra trooper figures were only available individually carded - making army building more expensive and time consuming as the Troopers were packed one per case. Having only 5 figures in the red set versus the 7 figure blue set - everyone made their own choices about which army to build based on their wallets 🤷

Interestingly, the blue Resolute Cobra Commander was the only figure from the blue set that was also available individually carded...but in a larger ratio than the trooper. 🤦‍♂️ Hasbro!

This is a great, simple set for dynamic display. Though there were multiple blue hues of Cobra Commander available throughout the 25th, 30th, and 50th Anniversary lines - there was even an all black classic version in one of the early release Cobra 5 packs - this is the only Cobra Commander with a grey, black, red highlights color scheme ever made in 1/18 scale.

Each figure has a file card and named stand and is equipped as shown in the above pictures. These figures are actually brand new in that they were removed from an original factory sealed box just an hour before these pictures were taken.

NOTE: If you haven't seen the Resolute cartoon - it is free on YouTube. It opens with Major Bludd sliced open and dead on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. In the second scene - Bazooka is murdered while on guard duty on the USS FLAGG! Definitely a long way from the cartoon we watched as kids in the 80's - definitely a story line made for more for adults than children
