Retro Heaven: Boxed Commodore 64 (fully working) #366

Description

Were you a Commodore 64 or a Sinclair Spectrum guy? Or maybe even Atari???
The battle still rages with these systems still having HUGE support, massive software/game libraries and highly active communities.

The C64 was (almost) my first computer in the 80's but it is my all time favourite and I still play it today.
It cost nearly over €500 (roughtly equivalent to over €1500 in todays money)

Take a look at some of the games you can play

The online groups are HIGHLY active and Commodore 64 Games are Still being created and released TODAY!!!

This is a Commodore 64c model, the last of the line, manufactured very late 80's or early 90's. It was the most popular model in europe and was the final design of the C64 with much improved power consumption and reliability.

The machine is in great working condition.

My machines are all fully working and tested loading and playing games with keyboard and joystick.

Recommended Upgrades
=================================================================
A Retro Computer is an investment and it is worth pimping it out

POWER SUPPLY
-----------------------------
The C64 power supply is not servicable and can slowly fade over time. In some rare cases this can damage your C64. It is recommended to swap it out for a modern replacement

SD CARD SOLUTION
-----------------------------
Waiting for Tapes to load is fun and all...for a while. But having an SD card solution can make life SOOOooooo much easier with rapid game loading. Here are some of the more pooular solutions in order of price

SD2IEC - The cheapest solution, it plugs into either your TAPE port or your USER port (either for power only) and has a fly lead that plugs into your Serial/IEC port. It then "simulates" a Commodore 1541 Floppy drive. It has a Graphical UI for you to select which "disk" image on the SD card you want to use and then you load software/games from it like a real floppy drive.
Note: A recommended add on is to get a FASTLOAD cartridge which greatly increases the load speeds of the (badly designed) 1541 floppy drive

KungFu Flash cartridge - Loads into the cartridge port and force-loads .PRG and .DMG games into memory.
Works with a LOT of software, but not all

Pi1541Zero - A Combination project of the Pi1541 Floppy Drive emulator AND the EPYX Fastload cartridge, this cartridge when combined with a Raspberry Pi Zero gives a great game loading experience.

Ultimate II Cartridge - The clue is in the name. It is amazing. It is also expensive (over €160-€200). I have one. I would sell my first born to keep it.

MISC ITEMS
-----------------------------
LumaFix - If using Composite Video the VIC chip can interfere with the video signal.
The Lumafix puts adjustable filter capacitors on the color lines which can remove the "jailbar" noise

SteroSID - upgrade your sound chip with a stereo SID chipd simulator (just pop out the DIS chip from it's socket and add this in instead)

Retro Monitor. A JVC or Commodore/Philips monitor can make the experience truly grand. Expect to pay though :(

I will help you with any queries or advice needed.
