Great Gig Memories From Punks and Friends (McGuirk and Murphy) - Music History

Great Gig Memories: From Punks and Friends by Niall McGuirk and Michael Murphy is a vibrant and nostalgic journey through decades of live music, told through the voices of fans, punks, and music obsessives who were there.

This isn’t just a music book — it’s a cultural time capsule. The authors describe it as “the sound of their record collections talking” — and that’s exactly what it feels like. From sweaty punk venues to unforgettable headline gigs, the book captures the raw energy, passion and personal stories behind Ireland’s live music scene and beyond.
