MXR M181 Bass Blowtorch pedal box

MXR M181 Bass Blowtorch pedal box

MXR M181 Bass Blowtorch is a specialized overdrive and distortion pedal engineered specifically for bass players. It is highly regarded for its ability to deliver aggressive, high-gain saturated tones while keeping the instrument's fundamental low end tight and clear.

Rather than distorting the entire signal (which can turn bass frequencies to mud), the Blowtorch primarily focuses its clipping on the midrange frequencies. This design keeps your low-end thunder intact and allows your tone to cut straight through a dense band mix.

Features

• Preserves Low End: Distorts the midrange so your bass frequencies don't get muddy.
• Blend Knob: Mixes your clean bass signal with the distortion to maintain note definition.
• 3-Band EQ & Mid-Shift: Features an active EQ with a toggle to target 250 Hz, 750 Hz, or 2 kHz.
• Torch Switch: Shifts the pedal into an aggressive, gated industrial fuzz mode.
• 18-Volt Power: Runs on 18V for extra headroom and cleaner performance.
