Vintage Cast Iron bench, fully restored. A nice restoration of vintage garden furniture.

An extended amount of work went into this restoration, so not taking offers sorry, price as listed.

Cast Iron Ends:
Fully restored Cast Iron ends are buffed, sandblasted and double-coated in Metal Shield (primer and topcoat), including the back and side braces.
This is urethane modified alkyd paint. This provides superior metal cover with anticorrosive protection for extremes in weather, for up to 5 years.

The Cast Iron ends are the traditional 'Fleur-De-Lys' ... (or 'Fleur-De-Lis') design.

Treated Timber Slats:
- 12 new beautifully finished, pressure treated Scandinavian timber slats, 45mm wide, 20mm thick and the bench is circa 4 feet long. Sanded to a fine smooth finish (180 grit).
- I chamfer the facing slat edges, drill the holes, and sand-finish the wood.
- 3 generous coats of Yacht Varnish are applied and light-sanded between each coat. This is extremely tough and long-lasting. It is UV protected from the sun, and waterproofed for our Irish weather. Yacht Varnish is very long-lasting marine varnish for wood that flexes with the movement of the wood and resists peeling and cracking.

The slats are secured by Stainless Steel carriage bolts. The bench is further stabilised by a center brace and two side-angle braces. These are also double-coated in Metal Shield. It would be recommended to take the bench in during the wet/cold seasons, which will make it last many more years.
